"Pleasant, nice area. The cows were entertaining."

6.0

We arrived and there was no one there to show us our cottage. I phoned both numbers we had and no one answered. When we booked the cottage was described but not named so it was confusing to work out which cottage was ours as there was no one to tell us where to go, fortunately the door was left open on the one which was described as an upside down house. Our neighbours were very loud in the evening and the walls were thin. Apart from that we had a lovely time.

Someone to have greeted us.

"We enjoyed our stay, despite my misgivings about the staircase."

7.0

Kilchrist Castle Cottages are situated in a quiet, rural location a 5 to 10 minute drive from Campbeltown. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is for you. The cottage we stayed in, Angus Cottage, has a well equipped kitchen and is comfortably furnished. Wifi was a bit hit and miss, but was free, so no complaint from me. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathroom is fitted with a shower with lots of hot water available. Bedrooms and bathroom/toilet are on the upper floor and are accessed by a stone spiral staircase approximately 200 years old.

The staircase! We are a fairly fit couple in our mid seventies and found it difficult to negotiate. It would be very difficult to carry heavy luggage up the stair and if you are physically handicapped or have very young children, I wouldn't advise booking this cottage. There are other cottages available and having stayed in one previously I would recommend one of those.

Nice old cottage good value. Nice location. Our weather was great, it could get very muddy if it was raining.

Could have more outside. Like a fire pit. And a wind proof seating area. That would really enhance your stay.

"Lovely location, dog friendly, cosy family stay."

8.0

The location is lovely, dog friendly and very peaceful. The cottage was very cute, really cosy downstairs. All facilities in place and a cosy family stay. The ad advised on the staircase which was handy as it is unique, had to watch the dogs on the stairs.

Would have liked an iron . The double bed needs a new mattress, itโ€™s a bit soft with two toppers on it.

"A little bit of paradise โœจ๏ธ"

9.0

Absolutely loved my stay here, I travelled with my son and my dog. The cottages are very well equipped, cosy and super clean. I stayed at the MacGregor cottage. Lots of room for us, one bedroom and a sofa bed (very comfy) my favourite bit of the cottage was a reading nook (not sure if that was the intended purpose) the views from the cottage were amazing. The cows in the fields opposite were lovely, the farmer even popped in a huge bull!! Despite them being so close to the cottage, there was no noise or smell from them. Location was excellent only 10mins by car into campbeltown, and 15mins or so to the most beautiful beach (westport) As it is so rural the quiet was such a nice change from the norm. The onsite caretaker Trevor was really nice and welcoming and I felt if there were any issues with the cottage, he would have been able to sort it. My son loved it here too. We even had sun!!

A few light bulbs had gone out and the WiFi dropped on the last night, however I believe if I had asked Trevor about it. He would have sorted it. In the end I didn't as none of it affected me greatly. Amazing cottages

Lovely location very quiet .

Decoration a bit tired . Bathroom needs a makeover. Fresh towels / linen would be nice after 2 or 3 days
