Agriturismo San Ottaviano

Nice place, very peaceful and remote, in the middle of nowhere (which can be also a disadvantage for some, depending what you expect and how long you will stay there). Very nice pool, dog friendly (but you need to pay 25 eur extra doesn't matter if you stay for a night or a week), they make their own beer which is quite nice! There is a restaurant which offers decent (not amazing but ok) meals - breakfast and dinner.

The room was very dark, no air conditioning in the room, no wifi in the room, you cannot really close the bathroom doors. the road leading to the place is not very well maintaned, you have to cross quite scary bridge, as mentioned - it is really remote. You have to pay 25 eur for a dog. During the dinner - no music, no atmosphere. Just a few positions in the menu, ok if you stay for 1-2 nights but I can imagine it can get very boring if you stay for longer, would be nice to have a meal of the day which would change every day. We got a lot of messages from them before we came, some really missleading, like for example about the welcome menu which we could order but apparently it was not the season to order it... so something with the communication is not right.

We liked : the brewery,the pool, the remote location , the view, the different buildings , the entire scenery :)) We loved the Staff :)))

Some nights, there is no breeze (Mother Nature) - opening opposite doors/windows didn’t help

The staff was really friendly and the property was beautiful. They made a special effort for our son with coeliac disease and the organic good was lovely. Beer tasting was nice!

No air conditioning when it was close to 40 degrees outside made it difficult to sleep. It would probably be the perfect location in May or September when it is a little cooler.

The staff were very friendly and helpful at reception and at the restaurant. The evening food was amazing, it was really fresh with local produce. The pool area was really clean and comfortable to lounge around. The property was beautiful and the views were like a postcard. The electric bikes were also so fun!

The WiFi connection was really bad pretty much everywhere apart from outside in the courtyard. The walls are VERY thin, we could hear everything on either side and above our room. The atmosphere in the evenings was a bit dead with no music. There wasn’t much of an atmosphere by the bar either which was often unmanned. The breakfast was OK, but the only hot options was bacon and scrambled eggs, both very salty and oily. The bathroom in our apartment had a mouldy smell and was very dated. We stayed for 6 nights and did not have a maid clean the room once, and we had to pay for extra clean towels which I thought was a bit cheeky.

Amazing place at a remote place. Perfect for a genuine experience.

We had an amazing holiday with my family. San Ottaviano has everything you would expect from a great Agriturismo.

We had such a lovely stay at San Ottaviano. The reception and restaurant staff were all lovely, attentative and helpful - thank you! We had a room on the first floor and the view from our verana was stunning. The pool area is also lovely with amazing views. We also enjoyed the breakfasts and the evening dinner at the restaurant was lovely too. The on-site brewery tour with tasting was also fun and a good way to meet some other guests at the hotel! The location was good for visiting nearby towns, we especially liked Suvereto for bars and restaurants and a quiet option to visit a local medieval town rather than the big cities. There are also plenty of vineyards nearby to visit - we chose Petra vineyard which was such an interesting experience with a lovely wine tasting with food to finish! A car is necessary but the roads were very manageable. Thank you all at San Ottaviano for a great stay!

The only thing to mention would possibly be to have a change of towels half way through the stay rather than at 1 week - we stayed for 9 nights so had one set of towels for 7 days, then new towels for just 2 days which just didn't seem the best balance.
