Casa Rural El Palmar

Really loved my stay in this quirky, traditional Canarian house. Fantastic courtyard terrace. Comfortable. Kitchen facilities good. Brilliant communication with the host - instant reply at 22:30 when I ran out of gas.

The shower needs a new head! The wifi is fast in the room with the router, but signal is poor throughout the rest of the house, because of the traditional stone walls. It is quite a walk from the town, up steep steps and along a narrow stone street. I was fine with just one rucksack, but it would be a real struggle with a suitcase. It wasn’t ideal finding myself with no hot water at bedtime and needing to change the gas canister, but these things happen!

Traditional canary house with spacious courtyard. Nice location. Big and sunny rooms. There are few electric radiators so in cold days can be useful.

Could be better maintained - some staff are in bad condition - like mattress in the bedroom or chairs and table in the courtyard.

An interesting old house but much too "rustic" for my taste. I understand that it is a historical building but I still think it could do with some upgrades.

I did not feel comfortable at this place. As it is very old, there are dead insects on the ground, on the walls, I found a spider in my bed. The bedsheets contain some annoying plastic layer that you hear whenever you move and the sheets kept slipping over the edges of the mattress during the night. The courtyard could really do with a comfy corner, pillows, lounge chairs - right now only hard chairs and a table cloth crumbling to pieces.

Clean, very spacious and with real character features ……great location once you find it ….very friendly host…village of Vallehermosa is an absolute gem
