Quinta da Tilia Boutique Retreat

Everything you wish for and more! Maria and Joào welcomed us personally and showed us around the house and the huge beautiful garden, they are very sweet and friendly owners, they helped us out whenever we had a question. The garden provided us with fresh oranges, avocados, bananas, all kind of herbs and much much more.. see for yourself. The house has a beautiful view in almost every direction, the ocean on one side and the garden and mountains on the other sides. There is lots of space to relax in and outside, comfortable beds and a fireplace in the living room. Outside is a net for various sports. Volleyball and badminton rackets were free to use. Nice and quiet in the night. It's a 15min drive from the airport, 6-7min to a big supermarket and most tracks and attractions are within a 30min drive from Capelas. Rental car is highly recommended to get around the island! We had an exceptional time at Quinta da Tilia, our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Don't forget to fed the fish and the turtle :):)

Das Haus von Maria ist wunderschön- und der Garten ist traumhaft. Wir haben uns so wohlgefühlt, dass wir viel Zeit in Haus und Garten verbracht haben! Maria hat sich sehr freundlich um uns gekümmert und uns bei allem unterstützt ( Reservierungen und Tipps für Unternehmungen).

Very spacious home and the property itself is like heaven. The owner of the property was also very helpful and a delight. Very kind.

There was nothing about this property I didn’t like. Simply gorgeous.

Honestly, this is one of the best properties our family (M49, F48, F16, F13) have every stayed at. Maria & Joao have done an phenomenal job creating and equipping a space that is designed to bring family together. From Joao putting up a volleyball/badminton net the day we arrived, to the beautiful coy fish pond and amazing landscaping the amount of shared activities on-site is great! In addition to the activities on-site, they have a telescope to scan the ocean for whales during the day and scan the starry night sky in the evening. Finally, the location is excellent. 15 minute to PD and everywhere except the far east coast is under 1 hour. We WILL be staying with Maria and Joao on our next trip to the Azores!

Beautiful, spacious propriety with stunning and huge grounds. Owner very helpful and responsive; he kindly accommodated an early check in given overseas flight schedules, which was very much appreciated. We had some cool rainy weather which kept us indoors for one day; we enjoyed the lovely fireplace to keep cosy! Would love to return in summer.

My only comment would be to have slightly better pillows on the beds, other than that, perfect
