Yellow House

Everything. Avril is a super host, attending to every detail to make our stay perfect. The on suite twin bedroom was so clean & comfortable. Great shower, fluffy white bath towels & beautiful white bed linen. We appreciated the complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee & chocolate biscuits. The breakfast was superb with a great variety of fresh fruit, yoghurt & cereals. The freshly cooked hot breakfast was wonderful with a great choice. The views from the house are spectacular with sheep & horses to view from the windows. This is the best bed & breakfast I have ever stayed in. There is a wonderful pub 10 min walk away, where we had a lovely evening meal. West Woodburn is a very nice location. We shall certainly be back & I will be recommending to my friends.

I cannot fault anything. Avril takes a pride in her b&b & it shows in every detail of the house & how she interacts with her visitors. Thank you for making our stay so lovely.

Location was fine - away from the main road, quiet, but close to my walking route. The owner was accommodating, welcoming and helpful, offering to drive me to the nearest pub for an evening meal, if I chose. Breakfast was exceptional, and the owner even offered to make me up a packed lunch for my next days walk. To top everything off, because the shower in the room I had originally booked was broken, I was given a slightly smaller, single, though perfectly adequate room, so the owner insisted on giving me a £10 refund. I cannot speak highly enough of the establishment, the owner, or my stay, and I would not hesitate to recommend Yellow House Farm to anyone.

A traditional old farmhouse that was warm and cosy . We loved the view from our bedroom it was beautiful and loved our room . Breakfast had lots of choice and it was lovely . Avril cooked my husband a lovely veggie breakfast with plenty . We were also given fresh melon and strawberries , fruit juice , we felt very well looked after . Yeah it’s a bit in the wilds , maybe ? Have to say the drive from Hexham to West Woodburn was beautiful . Thankyou for sharing your beautiful home and look forward to visiting soon ! If you have space ! .

It rained a lot driving from Blackpool to West Woodburn so spoiled the beautiful views a little . We went to Beamish the next day so got to do it again and it was dry so can’t complain .
