Yellow House

Host was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was lovely. The house was set within beautiful landscape surrounded by farm animals. We really enjoyed our stay in Yellow House.

Where to start, it's all been excellent. Beautiful countryside, easy to access, within 30 mins drive from Kielder or Hadrian's Wall. Amazing views from our room, even in bad weather. Easy to find, well sign posted. The house is extremely cosy, clean and warm. Our room was beautiful, large, immaculate and I absolutely loved the electric blanket we found on the bed - it was a great touch for me because I use one at home and love it. Breakfast is excellent as other guests have noted, portions are more than generous and there is plenty of choice! Avril is a wonderful host, she took such great care of us and made us feel at home the whole time. Not to forget Lottie, the best of furry girls, she is so lovely, well behaved and affectionate. We got quite a few Lottie cuddles, she is the sweetest. The pub in the village is good as well if you don't want to travel too far from the house, we had dinner there and it was excellent - massive portions, tasty traditional food and great value for money. Overall, we couldn't have asked for anything more, we truly recommend it. Thank you Avril!

Excellent breakfast, electric blanket heaters were a nice touch, very clean bathroom with great pressure in the shower. Spacious room with homely decor, comfy beds. Lovely host!

Noise travels through the walls and floor, TV struggled for signal at times.

The property is in a lovely location, rooms are lovely and spacious! The breakfasts are amazing , owners are friendly and helpful. They go out of your way to make you feel comfortable. We were going to a wedding in Otterburn , if you are looking for a bnb close to otterburn or want to get away for a few days, i recommend the yellow house !

Fabulous breakfast with a good range of options. The views over the hills were great and access to the main road for touring was easy.

There was only the one local pub so had to travel a wee bit for variety, but only 4 or 5 miles so not terrible. The heating went off at night and coincided with a cold snap so going to the loo at night was a chilly affair!

Breakfast was absolutely lovely! Good selection, good ingredients, cooked very well! Avril is just fab! Location was good, a quiet village setting, sheep and horses out on the field in front. Local pub, The Bay Horse, was lovely and welcoming, good pub grub. Noddy the dog was gorgeous - many fusses to be had there! Many local places to explore, Alnwick just up the road, Rothbury and Morpeth - lovely towns with great variety of shopping/restaurant options. Even the weather didn't dampen our spirits! All round great!

Not a lot - the weather could have been better but we live in Britain so understand it will rain!
