Cabañas Ixaya

Super friendly hosts, who could provide tips about a walk to a local waterfall as well as other local attractions. We could order pizza for dinner, and either eggs, empanadas, or crepes for breakfast. The outdoor kitchen was a nice place to sit for meals.

The tin roof was super loud when it rained heavily at night.

La ubicación, el sonido de la naturaleza. Todo es muy tranquilo. Está genial que haya cocina con refrigedador. Es pet friendly, a nuestros gatos les gustó mucho. 💚

Llegamos de noche y el camino para llegar estaba muy oscuro. Entrando a la comunidad, Google maps nos mando por un camino incorrecto y no teniamos señal para llamar a los anfitriones pero bueno, conseguimos llegar! Recomiendo llegar de día :)

Dos Amates is a lovely, very green and lush village. I felt very relaxed and calm there, hearing all sorts of birds and animals thriving all day. The outdoor kitchen is spacious and was very convenient for my meals. Loved having the company of kitties! The hosts Andres and his wife are the best! Attentive, welcoming and generous, we had great conversations! The breakfast they offer is delicious. Thank you for being so kind and welcoming!

The cabanas could be upgraded, as well as the shower.

We really enjoyed the nature, the local animals like parrots and the starry sky at night.

The cabañas are open to the external environment, therefore a variety of insects like scorpions can access the cabaña at any point. Luckily there is a net sorrounding the bed so you can sleep safely. The toilet and shower are shared as advertised, and they are outside, also very accessible by insects, so it is a bit scary if you're not used to nature life.

The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, they even advised us to get fresh eggs at the neighbours. The location is well-maintained and beautifully situated in a small tranquil village that has a rich diversity of birds, waterfalls and occasional sounds of cumbia music.

Perfect for us as a small family who love wildlife and relaxing in a small rural village. Very safe and friendly. Great birding and butterflies. Motmots and violet saber wing in their garden.

Really, everything was fine. No problems. A kitchen but no real close restaurants. No mosquitoes screens but that wasn't an issue when we were there

The host and cabañas were absolutely amazing. We booked one of the day tours they offer and were blown away by all the beauty the area has to offer. The cabañas are what I would call in the middle of nowhere, the perfect place to disconnect from the stress and busy daily life.

Do keep in mind that you need to consider time and money for transport from and to places. Nothing I dislike, just something that visitors should be prepared for. Thankfully the host provides transportation at a fair price whenever they have time.
