Casa da Ermida

This property is a quaint and beautiful stone structure of the architecture seen all over the islands. The accommodations are unique and wonderful. We had a very large bedroom and bathroom. Interior design is modern and sleek and compliments the stone structure. Our bathroom is also very modern with a wonderful full spray shower. Towels are of spa level comfort. The room is freshened daily. We had access to a common room and ate breakfast in a dining/kitchen area. Breakfast consists of an amazing assortment of local breads, cheeses, meats. jams, fruits. It was so lovely that we chose to cook our dinner there one night as well. We met the other patrons (2 other rooms in this large house) and that was fun. In the backyard we used the washing machine and drying racks, which were very handy. Finding the property took us a few "passes by". FYI in the afternoon of arrival the host puts his name and phone # on the door for patrons to call. He came right over to let us in and welcome us. He is very kind and really means it when he says to contact him for any issues or questions. He gave us very good information on some things to do on the island. The location of this property is outside of Velas, on the way to Urzelina, and ended up being a nice location to head out daily in different directions all over the island.

Great 4 night stay for 2 couples spending 3 weeks in the Azores. Peaceful location was out of town, requiring drives to get to restaurants and grocery. We were touring the island by car, so this was no problem. Our only problem was realizing we were to call Carlos (card on the door) to get in! He lives off site, but provided a nice daily breakfast and was very responsive and eager to offer advise and answer questions. We enjoyed use of the washing machine and the kitchen for a couple simple dinners.

Friendly and helpful staff, nice old building.

The host is very nice and the place is beautiful. Perfect solution to spend the night surrounded by nature, yet very close to the airport. The place is very quiet, there is a terrace and a little garden where you can relax. The owner is very welcoming and caring, at your disposal for every request you may have.

If I can make a little suggestion, Wi-Fi doesn’t work very well if you are on the ground floor.

Shower room is super(very big and water power also good! Bed room also very neat and comfortable! Owner Carlos and his wife very kind and well attended!

Location was little bit far if you do not have car(not waking distance because of road condition)

Very friendly and helpful host. Great welcome. Lots of useful tips and advice. Nice breakfast with homemade fiq jam (which tastes awesome!). The place was huge since I was the only guest.
