Quinta da Malhada

The house is modern inside, but has a very authentic and historical context. gorgeous view of the mountains, settlements and church. There is parking, everything you need for living and cooking. very kind and helpful staff. helped us in all matters. We were living at this home with our dog, which run away while we were on an excursion. And the owner returned her home. this touched me incredibly. grateful for this vacation, for the beauty and for everything.

Our family spent two weeks in Portugal and this was our favorite home! The home was clean, modern, well equipped and had beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. There were screens on the bedroom windows allowing guests to keep the windows open at night for the cool mountain air! There were also air conditioners in each bedroom and the main living room, for those hot summer days. We stayed in the newer built main house top floor with two bedrooms. The view out the living room (floor to ceiling glass) was breathtaking! The kitchen was equipped with all necessary cooking items and there were plenty of wine glasses for the relaxing evenings. Anna (host) was absolutely wonderful! A family member wanted to join us at the last minute and when we contacted the host to see if that was possible. Her response was, “Yes! No problem!” Anna added an extra bed to the bedroom and had an extra set of towels on the bed for our added guest. Anna also had coffee for her coffee machine (thank you! I forgot to bring my own coffee) and plenty of other items (sugar, salt, cooking oil, etc.). This place is amazing for anyone or family looking for some peace and quiet, while also being a short drive away from some amazing hiking trails. We noted some amazing off-road trails in the area, too. Anna also has a few smaller units on this property (perfect for couples and those touring the mountains on motorcycles). Our family enjoyed the 516 Auroca Bridge (on-line tickets required…no ticket sales on site) as well as the nearby hiking. There was also a nice river for swimming and a nearby restaurant a short hike from the 516 Auroca Bridge. Absolutely a beautiful mountain retreat!

Nothing! It was amazing! A word of advice - if you are not used to mountain driving, I would recommend driving to this property during the daytime. Mountain roads are narrow at times, curvy and very dark at night.

Magnificent Mountain View’s . Lovely modern and clean apartment. We liked the large terrace and garden furniture plus the BBQ. area . The bed was very comfortable.

Excellent stay, looks exactly as in the pics. Helpfull host, absolutly quiet area. Its a bit in the middle of nowhere, but that is clear from description.
