Great experience while feeling the essence of Tuscany. The apartment, the place and the surrounding were as seen in the movies :)

mediocre facilities and service. we bought our own toilet paper, bring trash to trash bins on the road outside.

In general it was very good, except for a spider bite😅, I last day, I would suggest to the Host to disinfect the building from insects, I had to take medicine for 5 days in a row because the infection was spreading in the body😝

The location and the property were well beyond our expectations. The Val D'Orcia is more spectacular than I could have imagined, and this property really offers so much space to enjoy it. The natural pool was amazing and the sweeping views, kind of indescribable. The hosts were perfectly kind and available. I see what others have said here about them being difficult to reach, and that was not our experience. Fulvia came around right away to check us in when we arrived, and Simone was very available over the booking.com chat to answer questions and honor requests. They are 2 people, who, with a couple of helpers are managing a huge estate and farm. So, folks should not expect this to be a luxury hotel, or for Fulvia and Simone to be trained the kind of service you would get at a luxury hotel. You would easily pay 3-5 times as much for that in this area. They are good people who clearly work very hard and want to do right by their guests. I found them both to be kind, caring and generous. As to the garbage situation every talks about, it was not that complicated, there are waste containers on the road away from the property for everything. No need to take your garbage to a town.

The apartment was not equipped with kitchen basics like olive oil, salt and pepper. We would really have appreciated those things. The bed was fairly uncomfortable. The heaters didn't work (It was May, so we only barely needed them so I did not inform the hosts. They probably would have fixed them if we had). In general the space was adequate, but in need of updating in terms of bedding and furniture. It would also be so nice if we could have known for sure if we were getting a bath or a shower. On the site it just says "bath or shower." It would be helpful to list rooms separately according to whether or not it has a tub. We were trying to prioritize places with baths and would have chosen that and paid more for it if that were an option. We also could have aske about this and didn't, so that is our responsibility.
