The morning scenery is stunning

I don't like the bed & bedsheets (the bed is old and the blanket is very thin and unclean), kitchens wasn't clean too, and plenty more to complain. The morning breakfast was too late.. 8am only ready for people to eat.. I check out at 7.30am.. and lastly the road going to wind valley farmstay is quite challenging if you driving a small car, lot's of uphill and downhill and sharp cornering and also super big pothole..

GOOD VIEW

Amazing view of Mount Kinabalu 🌄 Super chill, especially at night with the river flowing. Flight delay, arrived hotel at 11 PM, but reception was super helpful. Breakfast buffet was nice. Road a bit tricky, but totally worth it. 10/10 recommend!

View (5/5)- The accommodation had a superb and unobstructed view of Mount Kinabalu. Which is one of its main selling point (probably the only one) Staff (4/5) - Courteous and helpful. During one rainy evening, upon our arrival the staff came out to pass us an umbrella so that we will not get wet. Kind gestures like this do go a long way. Convenience store (4/5)- Thankfully, there is a convenience store at the establishment, sufficient and contained all essential items needed for our stay. The items were reasonably priced as well. Resolution of issue (3/5) - When we reached the establishment, we were quite surprised of its condition and politely negotiated with the host to have our rooms changed. Host was somewhat defensive but he allowed us to change our room, which I appreciated.

I do not like to blow things out of proportion and I do support independent businesses, however I also would like to keep this review real and reflective of my stay at the establishment. Bedroom (2/5) - Lights were very dim, only one light bulb per room, the air and condition of the room felt damp. The bedsheets and pillow felt damp and had a musky smell (those you get from not properly dried clothes). The beds were not comfortable at all, saggy and one could hear the spring bouncing back up as you shift from one side to the other. Minimal amenities and we had to shift some balconychairs into the room during our stay. Cleanliness was not up to par. Bathroom (2/5) - The bathroom was always wet, the paint on the tiles/ground can be seen peeling off. Bathroom amenities were minimal with one body wash. Thankfully, we brought our own toiletries. The towel had a musky smell (again). Location and "Farmstay" experience (2/5) - The establishment is located far away from Kundasang town, you will need to drive 20-25 minutes from the town to reach this place. The road to the establishment was bumpy with multiple potholes. To those hiring/renting/self driving a car, please ensure you have a proper vehicle as the roads to this place is treacherous, it can also get a bit dangerous driving to this place when it gets dark. I am confused about the label "farmstay" used by the owner of this property, as there was no farm, only a farm of mosquitoes and flies in the midst of thick bushes. Breakfast (3/5) - I appreciate when small establishments provide breakfast to their guests, for that I would give this an average rating.The dining place was filled with flies (although the food was covered), the food served were mainly cold and was lacklustre. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel breakfast but I would suggest the host to gradually improve this in future. Coffee was cold and nothing was served warm.

Feel so relax and enjoy with nice view of mount Kinabalu. Everything perfect for me with all staff really so friendly welcoming us from day we arrived till we depart even though location are bit far from Kundasang town. Will return back here are. Food especially breakfast are very tasty (kampung style) even it simple but delicious. Do bring your sweater or jacket because it totally cold here even in noon time. So many place to visit around this homestay like Desa farm.

Bit to far but not are major problem for those who really enjoy with nice environment and peacefully place.
