Idyllic Country Garden

Idyllic Country Garden was very well located for lovely Waikanae Beach and Queen Elizabeth Park and the delightful Kapiti Coast. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, the outside terrace and barbecue were good and there was a very well equipped kitchen for all our self catering needs. The inside seating area was comfortable as well.

As it was hot weather, the lack of air conditioning impacted adversely on our stay and the electric fan provided had little impact. We selected the property because we were hoping for tranquility. Unfortunately, the neighbours on the 2nd evening of our stay were very noisy and in addition had heavy machinery operating until well after dark.

Ruth & Gary were very welcoming and very friendly hosts, and so were the adorable attention-seeking pet cat and dog. Every convenience was looked into and explained well. The accomodation was well-stocked. The place was very spacious. The gardens were beautifully landscaped with lots of flowers, and even lemons and limes to pick. The bay window overlooking the beautiful garden full of flowers was a highlight. It was lovely to wake in the morning to big glass French windows looking out onto the garden.

I can't think of anything, I would be happy to stay there again.

We thought because it was Air BNB - there would be cereals etc provided - but there weren't - so we didn't have breakfast on the first day and bought our own on the second day. - so that should be made clearer on the website.

It was comfortable, quiet and close to town. Ruth and Gary were welcoming, gracious and helpful.

Secluded location in beautiful gardens. It felt very private even though the cottage was only separated from the main dwelling by the double carport. Lovely friendly and helpful hosts. Modern cottage with dishwasher, fridge etc. The hosts gave me instructions of how to get to the cycle trail that runs along the Otaki River to the sea - much appreciated!

The bathroom lighting made it difficult to apply makeup, and the wifi dropped out, which we had been warned may happen. It required rebooting from the main house.
