Do espírito enganador do proprietário/gestor do anúncio.

"Good"

4.0

"Everything you could wish for in a wine experience with top notch welcoming accommodation."

10.0

This was a unique experience rather than just an accommodation stay. The property is a 200 ha wine farm with its own winery set overlooking the Douro River. It is run from day to day by the most obliging couple, Isabel and Ricardo. To say they catered to our every need would be an understatement. Great food, particularly Isabel's gourmet evening meals accompanied by the estate's own offerings. I can only say that our stay was the most complete experience of our month's tour of Spain and Portugal. Infinity pool, freedom to roam through the vines, picked up by boat from the station, witnessing the commencement of the last phase of the wine-making process etc. etc. etc..

I suppose this is a little controversial but the view included the antique railway that plies its way up and down the Douro. Actually, we both thought it enhanced the experience as it passed us during daylight hours approximately once every two hours ... so approximately 6 minutes in total each day to experience a delightful interlude.

"A unique stay in rural paradise."

9.0

This is a beautiful, working farm with comfortable accommodation and an exceptional, though slightly quirky, experience. We enjoyed the remote and peaceful location, the ferry across the river, the ability to be part of the vineyard and understand the process of wine production, the goats and peacocks and the refreshing infinity pool with fabulous vistas. Breakfast is served in a wonderful family room with vast windows overlooking the river. We came during grape harvest and loved it.

This isn't a list of my 'didn't likes' but visitors will need to be prepared for dusty, steep paths and the need to negotiate where you'll eat. All are possible, some are adventures.

"An oasis of relaxation in the middle of the Douro"

10.0

Quinta da Ferradosa Wines is a wonderful gem opposite the river of the Ferradosa train station. Ricardo and Isabel picked us up and took us to the quinta by boat, which was a wonderful treat after long hours on the train from Porto. Isabel showed us around the farm and introduced us to the areas of the farm and to the goats -- another delightful addition to the trip. The quinta is built in "levels" which made it a bit complicated for my crutch-supported friend to traverse the farm comfortably - but with stone stairs taking us from one level to another, it worked out just fine. Naturally, the very pleasant pool and the extremely generous and tasty breakfast made the small treks worth the trouble ;) Ricardo and Isabel were charming hosts throughout, mingling seamlessly between pleasantries, familiarity, and friendliness. Some of their extended family were visiting the farm during our stay, and we were invited to join them for various outings and felt part of their group more than once. During the evenings and nights, Ricardo would act as boat taxi to the nearby "pool bar" - a small summer bar of sorts with a few snacks and sandwiches on the other side of the river. After getting picked up and returned to the quinta, we slept comfortably on firm mattresses in the air-conditioned room, waking up to the sunrise and a view of the river out the window. I'd recommend anyone looking for an unpretentious stay in the Douro to spend a night or two at Quinta da Ferradosa Wines. I will certainly be back!

"Magical at every turn."

10.0

The Quinta was highlight of our trip. Isabela and Ricardo were the most gracious hosts, they felt like you were visiting old friends. The scenery in the Douro is breathtaking and the accommodations themselves were spacious and comfortable. I didn't want to leave!

"Exceptional"

10.0

The hosts were SO wonderful, picked us up from the train station and took us by boat to the location. Anytime we needed to get to the village or across the water for any reason they were there to help and even offered to take us by car into town! The breakfast was lovely, the wines made were excellent and the animals on the property were so sweet! Zeus the tiny horse is fantastic. It is in a super lovely and quiet location, the main house is great for hanging out in with some music and wine. You can gallivant around the vineyards picking grapes or exploring, and be sure to check out their EXCELLENT irrigation system.

"The best stay in the Douro Valley!"

10.0

Everything! This was truly one of the best places I have stayed in a long time. Isabel the host was super friendly and just wanted to help from the moment we got there. Nothing was too much to ask. The pool, rooms, and dining area were all great. Especially the pool overlooking the river. Can't wait to go back!

Nothing really comes to mind.

"a great place to get a feel of a working vineyard"

host’s really friendly and eager to please great place to spend a few days on a small farm with vineyards and a winery

it has a quirky set up with communal cooking a little way up the hill and beds were a little too firm for us
