Ta Mala's Cottage

Very beautiful property and so well maintained

We tried to make the most of our stay and somewhat enjoyed the outside braai area.

The listing was misleading. Because it is called TaMala’s Cottage (singular), and not TaMala’s Cottages, we reasonably assumed that the images shown on Booking.com were of the accommodation we would be staying in. Upon arrival, however, we were informed that there are multiple cottages on the property, and we were placed in the Meerkat unit, which looks nothing like the main images advertised. This was by far the worst stay of our holiday. The space was extremely uncomfortable — the bed is only accessible from one side, making it impractical and awkward. Although the unit is listed as self-catering, there is no functioning kitchen basin with a tap, which felt unhygienic and unacceptable. While we understand that the accommodation aims to have “character,” this should not come at the expense of basic comfort and functionality. For the price we paid, the experience was deeply disappointing. We believed we were booking a beautiful house in Prince Albert, but instead ended up in a cramped backyard cottage that felt more like a novelty hobbit-style structure than a comfortable place to stay.

Beautiful, very special place

En excellent choice for a spacious, comfortable, convenient stay within walking distance to all there is to see and do in the village. The cottage was very well equipped and very user friendly.

It was very quaint and had everything we needed including air conditioning. Lovely splash pool and nice outdoor seating. Great to have the outdoor shower.

The only thing I think could be improved is the kitchen sink area.
