Casas da Chaminé Eco Country Lodge

Everything was great. What a gem of a stay. Mario is a great host. We loved the location and cosy feel, good cooking facilities, comfy bed, big bath, herb garden, nice decor, warm even in the deep winter storms. It's got the lot, a great getaway for our honeymoon. I rarely review properties and despite my misgivings at breaking a well kept secret stay this definitely deserved a great review.

We got a lovely welcome basket and the owner was always very friendly and ready to help. The place is really modern.

Gorgeous apartment, immaculate, lovely pool, really nice to have fruit and bits of food on arrival. Great communication from the hosts. Well equipped.

Amazing experience

We had a wonderful stay, the house is nice and very clean and has everything you need The views are good and if it's too hot you have air-conditioning in every room

We didn't meet the owners but we corresponded via WhatsApp and it was always quick and very helpful

At first, we thought that finding a place to sleep in the Nordeste area might be a problem, but it turned out that getting there was easy, quick and pleasant. We managed to tour the entire island. The place itself is a great place to go with a small group of friends. Peace and quiet and beautiful views. The swimming pool, even when cold (we were at the beginning of May), is illuminated and refreshing. A very nice treat for visitors in the form of local products. Great contact with the landlord. The house itself is very well equipped, perfect for a few days. A big plus - a washing machine and super comfortable mattresses (they come in handy after an intensive tour of the island ;))

I would slightly improve moisture management in the house. With the changeable Azores weather and the many water attractions on the island (warm springs, Mosteiros, Ponta da Ferraria), you can easily get wet, and with the general humidity of the air - it is difficult to dry out. Maybe it is worth considering an automatic dryer (e.g. in a common space?)
