My Room – Villa Vina ® - TER

The hosts are very nice and welcoming. The terrasse gives you a very intimate environnement, ideal for late night diners and talks with a view full of stars.

The hosts were delightful, interesting, and informative. They have a beautiful piece of land with breathtaking views on the trails surrounding the house. I appreciated the solitude of the property, the fresh air, and the close proximity to the Caldas de Monchique. There is also plenty of room to sit outside to enjoy the gorgeous surroundings and the beautiful night sky.

Instructions on how to reach the house would have been helpful. Part of the charm of the home is its location on the side of a hill, but getting there can be a challenge. I would have appreciated some type of description or explanation on how to reach the house upon arrival. Also, the kitchen was a bonus (although I didn't use it), but the refrigerator was not plugged in when I got there - a minor inconvenience.

Our experience with Vila Vina was very pleasant. Maria and Jose are two great people who offered us a place in their home. We have had a raw experiene with the rural life in Portugal because of them, Maria used to bring fruit and tell us a beautiful story about history, family life and culture, she also gave us a tour of their household, the view from their farm is very beautiful. Jose told us about all the beautiful places we can visit.The place is pretty simple, a bed, wardrobe and a small kitchen so you can cook small meals but there are also apartments that are so cozy with fireplaces and traditional portuguese details. So, if you are looking for a place to have the raw rural and tranquil experience and don't expect a luxurious experience, then that is a place to go. The place was clean, smelled of fresh air and it was cozy. Thank you Maria and Jose for this experience from which we return home with a new perspective and a pinch of wisdom, kindness and joy! Um abraco!

The climate is really humid so it is possible to feel the smell of mold

Hot hot and stuffy hot inside. No fan to move the air. Bed is a spring bed. Slept on the downstairs for a bit more cool air.

The studio where I stayed in is in much need of updating and repair work. Will not go into detail as the list is quite long. The bedroom is right next door to the reception area, meaning I can hear everything and vice versa.. Would I stay here again, absolutely I would! Would I recommend this place, yes I would ....if you have a minimilst mildset, and are a solo traveller you'll be fine! One last thing that did annoy me was the fact I kept bumping my head on the ceiling kitchen light fitting. I am 6'1 and have my clumsy moments but still ..

Felt rural and quirky, but clean and interesting.

94+ steps, arriving in the dark was a bit of a shocker, no chance of finding without ringing the owner, who was ace.
