Stunning Yew Tree Cottage

Property was very well equipped especially the kitchen. The owners had left a welcome hamper which was much appreciated.

The beautiful, characterful cottage and private stone walled garden were all well maintained. Great location a couple of doors from a lovely pub with good food. The welcome basket was much appreciated. Cottage stayed cool in 30 degree temperatures. Close to Castle Howard, can walk dogs in its surrounding parkland area for free. Would love to return to the cottage.

Get the old fashion bath/shower set up is in keeping with the property but you have to tread carefully as the roll top bath becomes slippery when showering.

A gorgeous home with fabulous touches that make it a great place to stay! The owners were so helpful and being able to request additional items (like steriliser and travel cot) was such a big help for us packing! The house was spotless. A great location. We just couldn’t fault it. We will be back!!

The property is well equipped and beautifully accessoried. There was plenty of everything you could need for your stay. We only stayed for two nights, but it was a lovely place to come back to after a day out. Location was great and the general overall appearance of the property is of a high standard.

Beautiful clean and comfortable property, which felt safe for our little boy (1.5yo). Set up well for a family and there was Plenty toys for our boy to enjoy. Feels like a home from home from the moment you walk in. Lovely area Neighbours are friendly and pub is a stones throw away and has good food. The owners were very friendly and even substituted items in the welcome hamper due to allergies in the family. Loved the stay, we were sad to leave.

The back garden was difficult to manage our little boy in but the front lawn was great and the park is not far to walk to, so it really wasn’t a problem.

Beautiful character property. Excellent location for local walks (ending at the pub), and also ideally situated to visit lots of lovely places from the coast to the city. Peaceful location without feeling out the way as just a short drive to the lovely town of Malton. Everything we could need was at hand, and it was nice to get a welcome hamper. Owners very responsive and friendly.

Shower in the bath wasn’t ideal for three 6 footers, but it was in keeping with the character. Could have been doing with a washing line in the back garden.

Well decorated and furnished with everything that you would need for cooking and modern living. Great blend of the historic and modern. Beds were very comfortable and the linen was of good quality. Loved the shower wash and shampoo provided. I liked the fact that there were smart TVs and points for charging phones and tablets. Location was perfect for us but some people might find it isolated.

There was very little we didn’t like. Had the weather been better we would have found the outside space a bit limited. We had a 92 year old with us who found getting in and out of the shower bath not easy because there was nothing to hold on to. The wooden slats next to the bath were wobbly and slipped but one could use a bath mat instead. Older people should also note the very small steps between rooms which were easy to trip over if one did not remember they were there.

Just beautiful!!! Loved the coziness of the cottage, the patio out back is adorable and the village is so lovely!!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely countryside location within easy distance of York. The cottage is very well equipped with comfortable beds and very peaceful.
