Glenmore House

Location was good, on the Causeway Coast near Ballycastle and within 30 minutes of Portrush.

For £200, I expected much better, even if it was during the Open Championship. Dated decor, crowded, hostel-like atmosphere, with a huge tent village right next to the parking lot. We paid for a "premium" room because we wanted a room with ensuite, but the shower backed up on us and flooded the bathroom in the morning. When the owner came to fix it, he was visibly angry, claiming "he's never seen this before in his life" and acted as if we were somehow at fault. There was no apology, no offer of any kind of compensation: just a classic case of blame the victim. The shower did finally work after he took out a piece from the drain, but some basic maintenance - or, ideally, a renovation - would have likely prevented this upsetting episode from happening in the first place.

Great homely welcome with very friendly staff and great breakfast.

Very friendly and helpful staff

Staff very helpful and welcoming. They seemed genuinely interested in ensuring you had a good stay. Comfortable bed and all the facilities you would expect. Good range of items available for breakfast which was included in the price. Great value for money considering the Open golf was taking place nearby. Local Translink bus passed the door and the driver was happy for you to flag him down to stop.

More detailed instructions on how to reach the property as it is well outside Ballycastle. Limited choice of evening meals.

It was a great location clean and a fair value

Lovely breakfast to start the day. Very friendly host, wonderful view from our bedroom window, quiet location without being too far from the township. Very happy with our choice of accomodation.

Nothing to dislike.
