Casa Rural Ahoraya

A lovely place to stay - we had walked over the mountains and into the calm & tranquility of the home. The bed was very comfortable; the lounge was nice & cosy in the evening with a log fire. There was an outside verandah to sit in and admire the views.

Lucas, the massage therapist was extremely helpful and gave my wife a superb massage. Great hiking close by.

Room uncomfortable and tired. Lack of privacy (our private patio was used by other guests). Room rate very poor value.

It’s quirky rustic charm and location.

The location and rustic nature of the casa rural. Once upon a time it would have been a beautiful place. Now it is a bit forlorn for want of energy and passion to care for it and the guests. It felt a bit vacant and lost. Once it was a place of spiritual retreat based on its character and furnishings. It would be great if someone could bring that aspect back to the place. We enjoyed our swims in the river and took the kayak up and down a few times.

The check-in was somewhat lacking in a cheery and friendly welcome. The house manager could have shown some more more warmth and personal attention and attending to us in a personal direct way. Too much time was spent checking details on her phone and bit enough explaining the house details. We did have access to the kitchen but could not cook and prepare meals. We were allowed to store our food in the fridge.
