Agriturismo La Tensa

Totally immersed in nature on the side of a mountain, this is a little slice of heaven on earth. Superbly restored, this delightful property, whilst a little way from town, is perfectly situated to take advantage of the natural beauty of the valley and access the many walks right from it’s doorstep. The restaurant is exceptional, and we saw many locals coming to eat as well, but as tourists we were warmly welcomed and felt immediately relaxed. Francesca is the consumate hostess, professional but also absolutely down to earth; and behind the scenes in the kitchen, Ivan prepares top quality local fare - everything we ate during our visit was delicious.

The cobblestone pathways are not the easiest things to navigate, especially with luggage, but we did not consider them a negative - in fact they greatly enhanced the charm of the property and we were so fascinated by the workmanship.

The location is excellent if you are looking for a quiet retreat. The restaurant was very good and the little houses restored well.

The road in is a little rough and passing anyone could be difficult.

This is one of the best Stays I had during my vacation. Decided to go here by fluke but it turned out to be a very beautiful property- perfect for a quite gateaway. The room was spacious and clean. The windows are so well designed that you can look out to the mountains and the changing sky colors forever. The owner and his wife were very considerate to serve us breakfast before their usual time. I would have loved if the restaurant was open on Tuesday for dinner - but that’s a minor thing - good thing is I got to know about this in advance and could arrange for alternate arrangements.

no house cleaning for the entire stay

The location whilst being a bit off the beaten track is absolutely stunning, the circuitous drive up from Domodossola became insignificant on reaching the property. The views are amazing and the restored buildings beautiful, still appearing to be built using a dry stone walling technique.

The adjacent restaurant (not run by the La Tensa guesthouse) was a little pricey for what we ate.. We only had two courses and a bottle of wine and it was still the most expensive meal of our 10 days in Italy. Due to the location it’s sort of inevitable that you’d eat there but there may be better value in the town.

the location and view are amazing. The atmosphere brings you back to the 17th century, but with the conforme of 21st century! The osteria in also great with very good staff and food.

nothing. All good! A car is need to reach the hotel.

We had our own breakfast so eee don't know how the coffee was. It would be much more nice if there is an oven and a dish washer, but for a weekend it is enough.
