Casa do Silvério

The views were lovely and there was a nice breakfast. The bathroom was large.

When I booked this room I asked if it had parking for 2 large touring motorbikes and I was told it had ample parking. In reality it had a very small gravel patch that was on a deep incline that even a small motorbike would get stuck on. So we had to leave our bikes on the road. The map link doesn't take you to the premises and the path to the room is collapsed and dangerous. The room had no windows apart from a semi glass door which was a nightmare to open as the handle came off in my hand. You have to physically lift the door to open it. So you have to either sleep with the external door wide open where anything or anyone can walk in or you keep it closed in which case it's unbearably hot with no moving air at all. It did have a fan, but it was clearly on its way out and Very loud. I have to be honest and say that although it's in a nice location I wouldn't stay there again. Use extreme caution if you plan to use a bike to get here.

Beautiful country home surrounded by vineyards. We had the house to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed it!

The tv antena in our room didn’t work.

We loved the location, so isolated,on a cliff overlooking ravine across to other mountainside. The decor was like being at my grandmothers place, beautiful antiques. Anywhere in the Duoro was lovely but this place was extra special. We even were served breakfast.

This is minor but it would have been nice to have lounge chairs to sit outdoors.
