Bairro do Casal - Turismo d'Aldeia

Turismo d’ Aldeia is a very unique property consisting of several well maintained villas with lovely views in a quiet village. We spent a couple of days exploring the area and enjoying the shared pool and lounge areas. Annabella and staff were incredibly warm and helpful.

This is a little peace of paradise in the Douro, an immersive experience in a mix between tradition and sophistication, the place has a soul that you can feel in each and every detail. If you opt to just stay and chill, it has excellent conditions in the common area, pool and related equipment, with a superb view over the valley, I will surely recommend this place and probably come back.

Remote, beautiful hillside setting in restored ruins. We had two bedrooms and though we didn't make use of it, a full kitchen. All very well maintained. Spectacular views over the hillside. Breakfast was very good with homemade items and some exceptional bread.

We knew this place was very remote and expected to arrive in daylight.. Due to a car problem, though, we arrived very late at night. No one around at midnight and it took us a looooonnnnngggg time to find not only the small village at the top of the hill but also our particular cottage. We walked up and down the spooky street, waiting for the barking dogs to come and get us, with our phone flashlights looking for the rock that said "Faustino"--it wasn't lit. Thought we might have to sleep in the car! My suggestion to the owners would be that they provide a map with obvious landmarks to find the place, especially for late arrivers like us.

Beautifully finished with care and attention to detail, very calm and peaceful location, friendly staff, clean and well presented.

Difficult to drive to as the streets were very narrow and this was not mentioned in the details. Discovered there was nowhere within walking distance for an evening meal and the only place apparently open in Freixo do Numão was very expensive for what it was. There are basic cooking facilities in the appartments so would recommend taking your own food if arriving late. Space is quite confined.

Amazing few, comfortable and authentic place

Everything was wonderful. Annabella was very patient with us and so was Sonia. It was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle. The train rides were simply stunning!

Excellent breakfast, incredible location and very comfortable accommodation. We will be back!

Knowing where to check in! We wandered around a bit lost for a while but once we found the host everything was easy :)
