Nuba Dool

The people who own it are lovely. The daughters speak English and were VERY easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly. I appreciated that very much. They arranged transport to Abu Simbel which went well. You do have to take a ferry back and forth but it was super easy and 15 egp each way (about 30 cents in USD and took 2 minutes. I added a picture of the ferry spot you want to take because our driver was confused. Once off ferry, it was the 1st house. The rooms were rustic but good for the price. It is no Hilton but for the price was great. The bed was new (a little hard/ uncomfortable but ok). AC worked very well. They cooked us breakfast (if you ask) for a small fee. Was great. Peaceful balcony for relaxing. A small community kitchen area on balcony was nice bonus. The people on the island were remarkably friendly. Good restaurants within walking distance on island. King Jamaica and Kona Kano (spelling?). I do recommend this place for an authentic Nubian experience.

The bathroom door in the room next to us was super loud. They were our friends so ok, but if not it would have been annoying. I recommend they fix that. Otherwise, nothing was bad.

L'alloggio caratteristico si trova sull'isola elefantina, la camera era grande con 2 letti alla francese. L'host ci ha proposto al nostro arrivo di darci una stanza migliore per lo stesso prezzo. Bella terrazza davanti alla camera vista Nilo.

Not expensive. Ok choice if going to bed late and waking early. Very authentic village feel.

Lifted covers and there was either a big dirty foot print or a burnt iron mark. For either turned me off. Sheets were dirty. Outside my door was a kitchen table for guests and I could hear people talking as if direct in my ear. No sound proofing from people in street either. I had to leave for another guest house not far away which was perfect.

Great place to stay on elephantine island. Very close to ferry dock on island. Rooms big and spacious. Nice terrace as well.

Clean rooms, very friendly and open people, good local breakfast.

Just short before und during Ramadan a lot of young people in front of the lodge were loudly playing and until midnight.
