Casa Alice Salar

A wonderful, lovely couple hosted us for a night and we had a wonderful breakfast in the morning. We really liked them and enjoyed our stay. They are so kind. Property is so clean. If come to Spain we will definitely stay here again.

Our bed was comfortable and the sound insulation was good, so we slept well. We had our own private space, including a roof terrace, which was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. There was variety of things to eat, it was plentiful and pleasantly presented. Our hosts' attention to detail and our comfort was a refreshing change from many experiences. We did not feel like an intrusion in their home, rather that we were welcome. Contact was easy, friendly, yet respectful. The location surprised me: it was much more convenient as a base to explore the region than I had imagined. Access to the highway is simple and Loja is an easy ten minute drive. Loja has a few good restaurants. It is excellent value for money and I strongly recommend it.

Martin and Joy were wonderful. The rooms were well decorated and comfortable. We had two bedrooms with a nice sitting room in between. I loved having a hot pot and large mugs for morning tea/coffee. The windows looked out at a beautiful church and small courtyard. The orange trees were filled with birds during the day and at night we watched bats swooping around and landing in the church eaves. The breakfast was served family style and was delicious. They helped up find easy parking that was close by and directed us to an excellent nearby restaurant for dinner. This location is very close to Granada. A nice alternative to staying in the city. I wish we had had more time to spend in this lovely little community.

The stairs might be challenging for people with mobility issues.

Absolutely loved our stay with Martin and Joy, they were super welcoming and the photos don’t to the place justice, much cosier in real life. Breakfast of champions served with love and good chat by both hosts. Easy parking nearby. Very quiet village with great value/quality restaurant around the corner. Would highly recommend anyone to book here. Thanks!

I had an excellent stay in Casa Alice which I will not easily forget. One of the best hostals I visit during my bike trip through Spain. Beautiful, clean room. Delicious breakfast. A perfect bed. Close to a very good bar and restaurant. Fast WiFi and last but not least two wonderful hosts fluent in English and Spanish. I hope I can come back one day !

Unbelievable friendly and helpfull hosts. Martin & Joy do there very best to make you feel like home. It's not only you stay at their house, but you're part of it. I got blown away by their friendlyness, free roomupgrade, their willingness to help and help me out with a load of laundry. Thanks Martin and Joy for this remarkable stay and if you are in or near Salar and looking for a place to stay don't look further and stay with these two fabulous people!
