Honestly there is nothing we didn’t like

We had the most delightful one-night stay at Sharlands Farm, and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday treat. This charming 400-year-old cottage is a true gem—immaculately clean and beautifully preserved, with every corner radiating warmth and history. The attention to detail in maintaining the character of the place while offering comfort was impressive. Breakfast was a highlight: homemade bread and pastries, and fresh eggs collected that very morning—everything tasted like it came straight from a country fairytale. Our host was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making us feel instantly at home. The personal touches and genuine hospitality made all the difference. And the animals! Feeding them was such a joy, but the real birthday magic was getting to stroke the pigs—an experience I’ll never forget. Sharlands Farm is more than just a place to stay—it’s a memory-maker. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful countryside escape with heart. We hope to be back! 

Lovely clean & comfortable room with everything you would need. Pretty courtyard garden to relax in after a busy day. We had beautiful weather luckily but if not, a comfy communal lounge available. Rachel was friendly, nice & welcoming, giving us advice of local walks and parking. Excellent food for breakfast with some different options to try rather than just the usual English breakfast. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back. Thanks Rachel.
