"Lovely, helpful hosts.... we would come back."

10.0

This is a beautiful old house, with traditional French features, the location is perfect for visiting Saumur and the Cadre Noir. Our room, The Park, was spacious, clean and had very comfortable beds, the shower and bathroom were clean, it had big windows that over looked the garden. Breakfast is a simple French buffet, with bread, croissants, jams and yogurts, served in the dining room. There is a nicley decorated sitting room area to sit and read. It is walkable from the train station, taking approx 30 mins, which is a lovely walk over the river and through the town centre. The host mentioned that we hang the key up when we go out and be back at 11pm as they lock up, however, when we explained we were going to be late, this wasn't a problem and they accommodated us. The hosts were absolutely lovely, and so kind, especially helping us to try and find a taxi service, and recommending a fabulous cave restaurant for dinner that is walkable from the BnB.

The only little thing I could find is the stair well is a little dark, having to use the light on our phones to find the key hole to open the door, and the top couple of steps before the sensor light kicks in, but that is very minor and I definitely wouldn't mark the BnB down for that.

"Good stay"

Very characteristic French house with a beautiful pool and garden. Good location.

Nice stay but a little clouded by the (too) numerous house rules (curfew, restrictions at the pool,…).

Not much

Ver stern hostess on arrival who claimed to speak very little english until she asked us to pay the city tax in Perfect English prior to departure. The only hotel in the world where I have been asked to remove my own rubbish from the room.

"Lovely property very close to town, surrounded by nature"

7.0

Lovely property surrounded by trees and very close to the city centre. The host was very nice and the breakfast a winner.

The swimming pool was only open from 2pm which is a shame as it would have been nice to be allowed to swim in the mornings (especially when it was more than 35 degrees)
