Heddfan

After traveling many miles and having arranged our stay 5 months ago, our host decided not to be around and hadn't left any instructions how to get into the property. After banging on the door for ages, getting help from a villager + no signal in the area at all I was at my wit's end.

Lack of communication by the hosts. They did not communicate for 5 months after booking + once paid monies were non refundable. No one was at the property on our arrival. There was a key safe but no instructions. The host knew the signal problem in the area, but left it to last few minutes before our arranged arrival to make any sort of contact+ I couldn't answer the phone as I was driving. No code was coming through because outside her property there is no signal, which the host is very well aware. After a stressful period of time wondering what we should do next. Lots of stress + anxiety. A local kind neighbor tried to telephone host who was in church + had decided to turn off her phone. After a lot of stress + anxiety I decided to get on my car + drive down to the next village to see if I could get some sort of signal. Finally after a stressful, wasted hour or so I made contact with our host. I was so angry + upset by this time for the terrible upset +inconvenience she had caused us. Finally we were given the code. We entered at the rear of the property, it was very basic and there was a terrible smell of damp. There was a few teabags and 2 sachets of coffee on a table with a kettle, but no milk provided. Nobody was around who we could ask for milk for a drink. I went to put my case in the small wardrobe, but declined as I saw the cobwebs in side. There was no soap in the toilet for hand washing+ a slug was crawling up the tiles in the bathroom. My husband + I were so tired that we just got into the single beds provided. No contact in person was made by the host. I always book for bed and breakfast, but the hosts were not engaging with is at all. My husband had to knock on the door for some milk for our tea+coffee and as it was 9 am we asked what time was breakfast. The husband of the host who answered the door had no idea about breakfast, but said he would bring us some milk. He later said that he would organise breakfast in about half an hour.

Advertised as being in Carmarthen is miss leading and was very inconvenient its over 18 miles away , landlady expected covid tracing to be completed which is now not a current requirement by law kitchen is listed as facilities being available but this was not the case

The hosts were really nice and friendly, and looked after us really well they were really helpful and always willing to go above and beyond. The place was very nice and clean and tidy and we loved the breakfast. It's in a lovely country area and is really pretty thanks so much
