"Comfortable, fun and inviting!"

10.0

First and foremost, my apologies to Romey for the late review, it was a whirlwind 4 days and then another 2 weeks of travel! We had the best stay ever!!! We are in love with Scotland and it started with our drive to Romey's. We found the best little garden shop on our way, Gloagbum Farm, and huge surprise, it was a garden center, shop filled with gifts and food and a beautiful little cafe with one of the best meals we had in Scotland! ADD this to your stop on your way! We also bought the best strawberries there, we have ever tasted in our lives!!! It was a 3 hr. ride that took us almost 9 hrs. from Glasgow, as we meandered and stopped along our way! Her home is beautiful, and just as I pictured. Romey's home is inviting & warm with a comfortable seat in every room, a cat and a dog and other guests from all over the world. Having our, daily, made to order, breakfast and sitting down with strangers, who became friends, was the best part of the morning! In addition to the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, haggis, toast, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, sausage, there are breads, croissants, meat/cheese platters, fresh yogurt, fruit and granola, oatmeal....it set us for the day of sightseeing, and we were out ALL DAY!! Our first dinner was at the pub, just up the hill, Romey, got us a table quick before they closed and hurried us out the door to get our table. What a lovely group of people. Everyone was so friendly, the food was amazing, the service great...and don't be alarmed at the dogs in the pubs...it's a very normal thing and they are super well behaved. We had a great chat with a sheep herder, who brought in is dog. Those folks work hard and the land is the most beautiful I've seen. Romey had lots of tips, tricks, and advice and a friendly welcoming smile, every time we saw her. The tea, coffee, fridge station for all guests to share was a bonus!

Nothing could have been better, it was exactly what we were looking for. Living among the people and hearing the good, the bad and the ugly. Meeting other guests was half the fun! Would stay again!

"Great host and homey feel!"

10.0

Staying at Netherton Farm was truly one of the highlights of our time in Scotland. We loved the area and the incredible view from the farm. Our room was comfortable and well maintained. Wifi worked well. Breakfast every morning was delicious and we loved spending time with Romi and getting to know her. Great location close to the highway/inverness/other towns but really enjoyed the quiet of the countryside. Saw an incredible sunset from the front steps.

Romay is an absolutely wonderful host. We LOVED our stay here. The farmhouse is so charming and feels like home. Our rooms were quiet and comfortable. During our stay, Romay was so accommodating, providing everything you could want or need at a B&B and more. The view from the breakfast room was breathtaking, and breakfast was superb! We enjoyed our talks with Romay and Maurine (Mo), who were so helpful with all things local. Romay went above and beyond, calling local pubs to see if they were still serving dinner when we arrived on our first night's stay. We really loved getting to know Romay (along with her awesome dogs and super sweet farm cat!). Netherton Farm is a very special place.

Well done Charlotte and partner and the Lady from Paisley country! I’m sorry I didn’t ask your name. Fantastic breakfast though. The owner should know you left everything in good hands whilst away.

Not a thing.
