"What a find!"

10.0

What an amazing place! Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting and surrounded by art and sculptures. A stunning family bedroom and a super comfortable bed. Breakfast was just delicious and the food in the cafe was wonderful too. Very friendly hosts and who made me feel so welcome and went out of their way to help. As I was cycling the Lon Cambria, the location was perfect and they were able to store my bike securely overnight, which was brilliant. Would have loved to have stayed longer and will certainly come back to stay again. Thank you so much for everything.

"We were impressed and entranced by the sculptures in their setting, and we learned a lot ."

10.0

Although the Arts Centre looked interesting when we booked, we had no idea how beautiful and uplifting this place is. It is not a typical guesthouse or hotel: we slept above a pottery gallery/cafe, but the building and room were simple, attractive and comfortable. They were set in the grounds of a former farm which now encloses another art gallery and sculpture park. The country location and the surrounding hills - as well as the quality of the works - made this a very special place to stay. Most of all, when we wanted to ask about the displays and installations, our hosts gave time to talk to us. This is a place we were glad to find, and which we would like to return to.

This is not a complaint, but if you plan to eat dinner out in style, a little thought in advance may be needed. The nearby village of Caerws is a short walk away across the fields but it doesn't offer scope for dining; one pub (no apparent food). However, there is a medium-sized corner supermarket and an excellent fish and chip shop: we dined very contentedly on a bench in the sun, but more demanding guests should probably stop in Newtown to find a restaurant or pub with food. That said, the breakfast in the Arts Centre cafe next morning was really good - and healthy.
