GBThe beautiful countryside, the friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very much at home. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable stay with them
Although John and Jacqui gave us good advice on a local walk, some maps of the local area would have been good. Also the walking trails were not well signposted. Obviously this has nothing to do with the Crown and Anchor, but more an issue for the local tourist board
GBGBJacqui is a wonderful host and the café is well worth a visit, the nettle soup I had was spot on. Even the biscuits in the room were the ones I buy as a treat for myself. The locals made the café busy and what better recommendation is there?
GBAbsolutely to die for! I have a huge appetite, but Jacqui's breakfasts set me up for the day! Fried eggs, bacon, mushrooms, fried tomatoes, tattie scones, haggis and black pudding: what's not to like!
I can't really think of anything negative to say about the Crown & Anchor: sorry!
