B&B OPG Culig

It is a typical small, family run hotel / lodge in the middle of wine growing area. Very quiet, located in the country side - approx. 20 min ride from the highway - with a great view on the surrounding landscape as the place is located on the hill. The owners are very welcoming and taking care of their guest, which is particularly appreciated, when you stop overnight, while on the road to the Croatian coast. They will also spoil you with a real home-made comfort food and drinks, which we really enjoyed.

Beautiful location in countryside of rolling hills and vinyards. Friendly and welcoming host, nice rooms and meals.

I cannot praise the hosts of this guest house enough for their warm welcome and absolute hospitality, going above and beyond anything I might have expected. From the minute I arrived, Anna (the hostess) and I got on so well, such a lovely, kind, genuine lady. I booked for one night and ended up staying for 3! I was a solo traveller so had a single room with a decent sized bed - it was perfect, compact, immaculate with a lovely en-suite, and best of all, had air con! Nothing was too much trouble, helping me out in ways I would not have expected, keeping me supplied with ice for example, as I was having a lot of pain with an inflamed shoulder. She was understanding of my dietary needs (not a meat eater) and again, put a lot of effort into making sure I enjoyed my meals, all of which were home-made and delicious. All the staff and helpers I encountered were equally friendly and helpful, again, nothing was too much trouble. The hosts have a winery and cellar with vats of wine, I didn't know this beforehand but part of their business is wine tasting and I can confirm, it is excellent. There is a lot of 'work in progress' which includes the construction of an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, but these are scheduled for next year so I suppose this will mean I have to return! I would recommend checking out the guesthouse's own website for more detailed information, I feel sure you will feel compelled to pay them a visit!
