Bed and Breakfast Lagabella

We had a nice welcome. They put out names in a blackboard welcoming us. They showed us round the property. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They gave us plenty of towels for our stay. The breakfast was good but no choice in what we ate (or asked if we had specific needs).

It’s not a complaint but it’s not easy to get to, roads are windy and you need a car to get anywhere if you want lunch or dinner (they only have breakfast). My partner and I (no kids/in our 30s) brought our own dinner to eat and we were told when being given the tour that we could sit wherever we wanted. They had a beautiful terrace with sofas and a romantic view with fairy lights so we sat down. The lady owner told us that we couldn’t eat there because we could stain the sofa and it was new, so we had to sit at a table where we have breakfast. The problem was that the owners proceeded to sit down on the sofas with their glasses of wine so when we had finished our dinner we had nowhere else to go. So we went back to our room. The next morning the owners were having coffee and watermelon in that very place where they told us not to sit. We felt we were being treated unfairly because these are all communal areas, which the owners shouldn’t be taking up, especially as they told us to move when we had food , making us feel uncomfortable even though we are paying guests. We would have loved to sit down under the pergola , having a cup of coffee looking at the views but we were placed at a two person table.

Rick and Manon were very welcoming hosts. Loverly Christmas decorations. Fantastic breakfast. Pickup and drop off really helpful for those on foot.

Beautiful location, exceptionally pretty and well kept gardens, quiet and rural location with beautiful views. Clean and well equipped rooms. Manson and Rock we welcoming and very hospitable. Breakfast was delicious and we regretted not taking the evening meal as well.

There was nothing not to like

Great host, Great service, great breakfest, great rooms. the host's was extremely helpfull finding hikes/boat tours and other activities , and they made you feel at home right away. The room was beautiful designed, and the view of the valley and mountains was breathtaking everything was very clean. it had good parking.

I long drive back, it takes 30 min from the beach, but again, thats what it takes cost to get a secluded beautiful place.

A beautiful B&B, with a lot of attention to detail. The room was extremely comfortable, quiet and well thought out. The owners Manon and Rick were very friendly and open, taking time to chat to guests, without being intrusive. Lagabella is very well located for El Saltillo, the Andalucian Coast to Coast, GR249 and - if you’re feeling energetic - La Maroma (at the time of writing, you can be picked up from Sedella or Canillas de Aceituno on arrival if you’re not traveling by car). Unfortunately I was only passing through for a night, but think it would be a lovely place to relax for a few days in the beautiful garden, soaking up the views of the hills and distant sea, or making use of the (seasonal) outdoor pool. A delicious dinner and bar are available (cash only)
