Fiddleback Farm

The location suited my needs, however I wasn't a fan on the railway line adjacent to the farm and itwas not as tranquil as I was hoping for, as it was situated next to a busy road.

Unfortunately the room was bitterly cold when I arrived at 3pm. The host explained the heating was on a timer and wouldn't come back on until 6pm. Whilst there was a plug in heater, this did not sufficiently heat the room. Furthermore, there was no hot water from the tap. Also, whilst the room was clean, the bedding had 2 small creamy marks on it which smelled sickly/sugary and I believe this was residue from sweets. Unfortunately the following morning, I still didn't have hot water from the tap and the room was still very cold. When I asked the host about the water, she said she had messed up the timer settings. For reference the outside temperature was -2 and who turns the heating and hot water off at all? Wholly unacceptable!

Katie was a very friendly host and her breakfast was great. The room was excellent , clean and well decorated. The whole property was very well presented. As I arrived on my motorcycle she let me store it in the garage overnight, I wasn't expecting that. I couldn't ask for more.

Katie messaged us on the day and stayed in contact. Made a great breakfast with lots of choice. The room was a good size for a family. Stunning location. Beautiful farmhouse. Great place to stay in Cumbria. We were able to arrange a later check in. Everything was clean and fresh. Grounds were well presented and we would stay again. Very good value. We will definitely be back at Fiddleback Farm. Comfortable beds in a quiet location. Suitable for couples or families.

This was our second visit and stay here. Katie is a wonderfully warm and welcoming host. An amazing property providing comfortable and homely accommodation.
