This was a really charming little hotel with a beautiful courtyard. The location was spectacular, right near Dobó square and just under the castle wall. We could walk everywhere from here. The furnishings of the hotel were more antique and more like it was 100+ years ago which added to the charm. Our host was a very kind and helpful older gentleman who spoke multiple languages, including English. We asked him about the wine tasting spot of the Valley of the Beautiful Women and he helped us get transportation there and recommended his favorites. His recommendation for the restaurant was Küvé. It was one of the top 3 meals we have ever had and a modern take on traditional Hungarian food. That is saying a lot since my wife and I are foodies. Between the hotel, or host, and the wine/food it made Eger a place we plan to visit again next time we come to Hungary.

It was a little challenging to find at first but this was not the fault of the hotel. Apple Maps tried to make us drive right through Dobo Square to get there, which we couldn’t, of course. Once I sat down with the map I was able to chart a course around the town to the other side and we made it just fine.

Tolle Lage, ganz ruhig und trotzdem mittendrin, sehr sauber, freundlich und kommunikativ! Absolut zu empfehlen.
