ALMAIDA II Gili Trawangan

It felt very homely, the room was clean and even though you walk through the backyard, it’s very tidy and well maintained. The aircon works well for room #5, they have six rooms all up. You could hire a bike and do the snorkeling tour with the hostel for a fair price. We had banana pancake for breakfast and it was nice. The bike ride was quite easy from the accomodation to the beach where the sunset is.

A little desk would be great to be able to work from a laptop. One plug on the side of the bed didn’t work. They had a cat that was cute, but it cried a lot for food during breakfast. We tried to extend our booking but they were full. We then tried to extend the rental for the bikes for another day, but weren’t allowed due to the priority for guests.

A great budget option for Gili T. The property is a short 15 minutes walk from the busy party streets which makes it nice to get away from the crowds. It's also strategically located in a way that you won't be awoken by the call to prayer. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, AC did the job. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast. They organise a snorkeling tour for 110k including lunch which seems like a great deal.

There was an awful smell of sulfur when flushing the toilet, however this is probably a local problem outside of their control. It is a tiny island after all. It would have been nice if the water tank was replaced and not left empty.

It was spacious and nice, comfortable bed. Every room had they outside small terrace space. The owners seemed very friendly. Most importantly - it had an A/C and working quite well working wifi (barely any service in the island, so it was a hige bonus).

I suppose it is problematic for all island, but there was some uncomfortable smell. It didn’t go to the main room. The location is quite far from the main street (20min walking), I recommend renting a good bike.

-there’s no hand soap in the bathroom; -every time we flush the toilet, there’s a terrible smell, and how the bathroom door doesn’t close, the smell comes out for the room; -every day I had to ask them to kill some cockroaches inside the bathroom; -there’s nothing to put our stuff, the room is really just the bed -I also don’t recommend the laundry service, 70% of my clothes returned dirty and all smelling bad

Staff was very nice the breakfast was good! The ac worked well. And there was a cute cat! Bed was comfortable.

The bathroom smelled so bad. Like hard boiled eggs/sulfur. The bathroom stunk so bad that I went outside to brush my teeth instead of using the bathroom. The smell leaked into our room too and was just very foul. There was only one blanket for 2 ppl. The bikes they rent are a bit dangerous as most of them don’t have brakes that work and my pedal was twisting around and loose while I was riding. But the bikes are cheap so you get what you pay for maybe but just not safe. The place is okay if you’re on a budget but def not 8/10.
