We chose Moran’s Bar B&B primarily for its location—it’s an ideal 8-minute drive from Benbulben, which was the main goal of our first trip to Sligo. While the location and staff were wonderful, the lack of cleanliness in the room and dining area was a significant letdown. ​The Positives: ​Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot if you are planning to hike the mountain. ​Staff: The lady who served us breakfast was very pleasant and welcoming. ​Breakfast: The food itself was good.

​Room Hygiene: Upon check-in, we were unpleasantly surprised to find the room had not been properly cleaned. There were visible stains on the decorative pillows, thick dust on the fixtures, and grime in the bathroom areas (shower tracks and drains). ​General Upkeep: Common areas felt neglected. The breakfast tables were dirty, and the placemats provided were stained, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. ​Maintenance: Beyond just dust, there was significant buildup on the extractor fans and plumbing fixtures that suggests a long-term lack of deep cleaning. ​Summary: This place has so much potential because the setting is beautiful and the staff are kind, but the hygiene standards are currently far below what is acceptable for a B&B. It’s hard to fully enjoy a stay when you don't feel the environment is clean. We would love to see this improved, as it would otherwise be an amazing place to stay.
