Friars Quarter House

Home is very cute and location was good.

It says private bathroom room, but we are assigned a unit with a private bath room but not connected to the unit. The owner said that no one else would use it,but it was used by someone else . That was not good experience, but that was only bad experience

Our stay at this guesthouse was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere—both inside and out—was truly lovely. The grounds felt timeless, and stepping inside was like entering a stately home, filled with charm and warmth. The breakfast was simple, a convenient grab-and-go style, but it suited our family’s way of traveling perfectly. Combined with the comfort and beauty of the house, it made our stay unforgettable. I cherished every moment here and would return in a heartbeat.

Would of preferred an irish breakfast but what was on offer was very good

The owners are lovely, so welcoming and informative.

When reading reviews I only picked up on the amazing breakfasts and therefore we were shocked on arrival to learn that unfortunately the lady of the house was no longer doing them. We were provided with coffee, fruit & yoghurt so we had something to start the day.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Very dog friendly. We enjoyed our stay

The home is beautiful and the room we booked was comfortable. Lovely view of the grazing cows across the street and her garden was enviable for sure. The bathroom, although separate, was well appointed and the on demand hot water was superb. The water pressure was perfection, especially after a long day of driving.

Upon arrival we rang the door all and were eventually greeted at the door. It seemed like we were not expected but thee hostess said things were crazy that day “because of the rain”. We were shown to our room upstairs and told that she would bring the missing bathrobe from the dryer and that breakfast items would be available on the upstairs landing in the morning. No other conversation was made and we felt like we were intruding into this family’s personal life. We did not feel welcomed. Serving breakfast items on the landing was also strange and a little uncomfortable as we were wanting to use our separate bathroom across the landing but people were standing outside our door making breakfast. It was strange and we wondered why that wouldn’t be served in the downstairs dining room. We had wanted to sleep in as we had a long drive the day prior but folks congregating outside our door did not make that possible. We packed and left and did not use the breakfast items.

A beautiful property just a short walk from town. Lovely, helpful host made it even more pleasant. The twin room was a good size and very comfortable.

Room clean, comfortable bed.

On arrival briefly shown to bedroom No 1. No usual B&B guest welcome, after 4 hours drive to get there. No en-suite, toilet & shower across public landing. Advertised as B&B - No cooked breakfast served, but told there would be something left on landing - Tesco Instant Porridge, Activia Prune or Oats Yogurt, apple, orange, bananas in bowel. TV unable to use till 2nd day, when controls were found under a bed. Single occupancy does charge as a double, but this was too much for Bed only.
