Barnfield Bed and Breakfast

Joan was very accommodating to our late arrival to the property. She was very welcoming when we saw her in the morning. And the breakfast was divine.

Exceeded expectations because Joan was a perfect host. Very accommodating indeed. I had the rear bedroom looking out on to a large beautiful garden which was very peaceful. The room itself was comfortable and well appointed, whilst the breakfast (full english) was plentiful and tasty. Location was ideal, easy to find and park on site. Overall, very good value indeed and Joan is justifyably busy most of the time. Would DEFINITELY stay again.

Easy to find and plenty of parking. The host welcomed me and showed me to my room. Lovely large back garden where all you could hear were birds. Breakfast was simply delicious and served in their lovely dining room. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. If I go on another cruise from Southampton, I would definitely stay here again.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

Lovely warm welcome. Simple but everything I needed for a comfortable night. Good shower, excellent breakfast. Really good value.

Welcoming Host, able to give advice about the area. Knew the hospital road and how to avoid the traffic in the morning. Asked when we would like Breakfast, and agreed she could do the time. Asked about the spare duvet i had asked about, but found the bed to be suitably soft enough to cope for one night, so no need for it. Had a lovely breakfast, home cooked and with all the extra things available in the dining room to help ourselves, sat with others on the large dining table, it was a pleasant experience. Checkout was quick and paid with the card machine the owner had. Very easy, relaxing one night stay. The shower was amazing.

Stayed in a front room overlooking the drive, the hotel had tried to block the sound by using triple glazing at the windows, but it wasn't enough and the curtains didn't block out sound let alone meet in the middle, so could hear the lorries on the main road, rattling by all night and all morning. The room also showed the subsidence of the heavy traffic by its warying signs of big cracks running around the windows at the front of the room.

I liked the location as it suited my immediate needs. The breakfast was exceptional. My room was clean and comfortable. Should I return to Downton, then I'll make Barnfield B&B my first choice.

Found Joan & Husband easy to talk too,comfortable bed ,very clean easy to find,on the main road we'll set back lovely big house best B&B I stayed at ,beware the sat nav will send you to Bachelor Way ignore it's just along the road and we'll sign posted
