Ards House

We just loved everything about Ards House . We had beautiful and very clean rooms, an amazing breakfast and last but not least our very charming landlord Chris. He understands the word hospitality in every inch.

Chris was a super host. Our room was spacious with a very good bed and exceptional views. The breakfast was tasty and more than enough to set us up for the day.

The sink and shower were both slow to drain.

I honestly regret that we could only stay one night there and had to leave very early as this place is incredible. Firstly the owner is very kind and welcoming, the place is very cosy and feels so homy. You have everything you need and more in your room, also a very nice tea set with something sweet. The room was also very big. And the stunning views just outside of the house are breathtaking. Definitely recommend and would like come back :)

Nice breakfast (not included in my room price), a very comfortable bed and a friendly host. The house is nicely decorated and it has a nice period character. Private car park, although this is on the opposite side of a main road.

1) I could not obtain any channels on the television in my bedroom (no7) even after twice using the tv menu to tune it. When I looked at the back of the tv set the aerial cable was obviously damaged and the connection was hanging by a thread. I mentioned this to my host the following morning as the problem was only discovered at 10pm, about the time the guest lounge closed, but the host's explanation was a bit vague. A bedroom in a 4 star establishment (Scottish Tourist Board) should have a working television and it should be checked before the room is let. If such an issue arises, the guest should, ideally, be offered a discount e.g. in my case the offer of a free breakfast would have been a suitable gesture. 2) The extractor fan was not activated ('house' policy apparently due to the noise) in the small room with the wc/shower and condensation built up quite quickly.
