Good value, clean but compact

Checking in was a bit awkward as no reception

No small fridge in the room. A fan or AC would be nice.

The bed was comfortable. There was alot of free parking across the street.

I stayed for 2 nights and unfortunately the fireplace went off both nights that I stayed. Thankfully it was a false alarm. The uht milk in the room had lumps. My room was not serviced while I was there.

There was no breakfast. Maybe we should have known this in advance but we didn’t. There is a clear sign on the side of the building saying BnB but this is not the case. There was nothing about the facility that I liked. Our room was on the second floor, I.e. at the highest point of the building, and up a narrow staircase which proved difficult for my wife to negotiate because her mobility is limited.

At 5am in the morning of our one night stay the fire alarm sounded causing all the residents to gather at the front door. We were unable to deactivate it but it just stopped after about 10 minutes. There was no fire or reason for the alarm to go off as far as we could see. Needless to say this messed up our sleep completely. In fairness the woman of the house was apologetic and actually gave us €30 towards breakfast but I feel we should get a full refund.

The location was ideal for getting the ferry across to Bere Island. The room was comfortable and had a lovely bathroom and shower. Parking was available.

It was good for the price paid. It provided everything one would need.
