Bathroom could be modernised soon

The bed was reasonably comfortable and room was warm. The staff and local residents were generally very welcoming.

The room itself- Nowhere to put clothes other than a bedside drawer, lived out of open suitcase on the floor for six days persistently trpping over it. Room was in the eves of the roof so had to bend over to get in and out of bed. Bathroom ceiling was cracked and paint falling off it. Velux windows old and mouldy, catches broken, attempts had been made to fill them but not very effective. The main issue though was lack of sleep, the accommodation is a busy local pub, with other pubs surrounding it. On arrival we were told the local football team were playing in a final and that it would be very busy and noisy for that day....not a problem we thought, be nice to see the local culture on an important day. Well that day turned into four days of noise and busyness, each night being disturbed until well into early hours, as in 3 -4 o'clock in the morning early cars were revving in the rear car park, people running up and down the fire escape outside the room, very loud music from both the accommodation itself and venues close by. Not wanting to be party poopers we didn't want to mention it, but lack of sleep over 4 days was too much. We spoke to a member of staff who spoke to the landlady, our issue being we should have been forewarned of the ongoing celebrations before we arrived. They accepted being responsible for the noise for one night but passed responsibility to other venues for the other nights saying they would have moved rooms if we had asked. I raised the point that it wouldn't have mattered which room we were in as it was so noisy. The point being, when you away for a break you don't expect to return home more tired than when you came away (unless by.choice of course) We have a disabled child who is a light sleeper and when they don't sleep well it makes daytimes more challenging.

The breakfast was excellent considering it cost €45 for all 4 of us to have breakfast. There was also loads of options on the menu. The bar was cosy, staff friendly and the pints were excellent. We had dinner too and again it did not disappoint. We defiantly will be back.

Nothing to dislike.

Limpio, con parking, fácil de localizar, la habitación era para cuatro y era amplia, los colchones perfectos todos, almohadas y edredones de plumas! Agua bien caliente. Muchos enchufes. El personal de diez. El desayuno súper bueno. En el pub hay un ambiente perfecto, típico del irlandés local. Los fines de semana hay música en directo, se oye desde las habitaciones pero termina pronto y se puede dormir perfectamente. Le da muy buen ambiente, divertido y acogedor, típico, típico.

Super location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, very clean, lots of parking around the back. We didn't get to eat there but the food we saw served looked great. Had a nice drink at the bar. We thought it would be very noisy over the pub but we didn't hear a thing.

Our room was very compact, only 4 pegs on the wall above the tea station for hanging clothes on, we had to hang longer items in the shower.

Stayed the one night, we did stay here a number of years ago. The place has been transformed in the intervening period. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean. It was a little on the small side but adequate for a one or two night stay. I would have to say that if we were staying for a number of nights we would like a bigger room which I am pretty sure is an option. The food downstairs in the bar/restaurant was fantastic. We both had the steak one rare and one medium, both cooked perfectly. We shared a starter and desert which were both also perfect. The staff deserve a special mention, very friendly which means a lot when away for a night or two.

Happy Out. Room fine for a one or two night stay but if staying longer we would go for one of the larger rooms.
