Angels' homestay Marari

Very close to the beach, quiet area and lots of green around. The host was very kind and offered some fresh papaya when I arrived, when I mentioned I had to do some video calls he arranged some delicious food would be available for after I finished (for a reasonable price). I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable stay in a beautiful area and near the beach 🙂

There’s no hot water in the shower, but this is very normal in Kerala.

Location was close to the beach. Nice garden and front porch for the rooms. And Edward and family were great hosts. Nice complimentary breakfast and excellent home dinner. Would highly recommend.

I had a really good time at the homestay. I felt very comfortable, the place was clean and had everything one could need. The people living there were more than friendly and the food they offered was delicious. Mararikulam is a small and calm place and the location of the house was perfect, just 5 min. walking distance from the beach. I'd definitely stay here again.

Edward really is an angel. The stay at his property was amazing. He makes sure that everything is to your liking and organizes the food that you like, trips, massages,... He even managed to locate and bring back my jacket that I forgot on one of the busses to his property! I would have loved to stay longer. But maybe one day I can come back to this place! The location is also really good. It is quite and close to the beach, where you can even spot dolphins.

If you are a foodie, there is not much of street food around. But there are a few little markets and spots where one can buy fruit and snacks. But Edward can also accomodate for every meal and is happy to fullfill any wish!

hello everyone, this will be a detailed and rather long review, I hope it will help you make the right decision. My friend and I stayed at Angels Homestay for 10 days. Right from the beginning, the owner - Edward, started helping us. We weren't sure how to get there and he wrote the best way to do it. Immediately upon arrival, we were accommodated in a clean and tidy room with air conditioning and a bathroom, towels, soap and toilet paper were given. This is not the case everywhere in India. We really liked the room - spacious enough for two people, we had a table. the room also had a terrace where there is a large table and a rocking chair hanging. The owner saw that we liked it very much and after 3 days a hammock appeared in the garden next to it. The territory near the house is very clean, there is a place for yoga. Also, there are many birds living in the trees, which sing extremely beautifully. It does not interfere with sleep, but it is pleasant to listen to at breakfast. Every day we had breakfast at the property and were very pleased with Rinjida's cooking. My friend is not very good at Indian cuisine, so Edward let us cook in the kitchen on our own. The location of the house is very convenient - within 7 minutes there is a very pleasant and quite deserted beach. It is about 20 minutes to walk to the main beach of Marari, but there are much more people there, so we did not go there. Two minutes from the property there is a road where you can take a bus or catch an autorickshaw. The owner is very helpful in all matters, I can say with confidence - we became good friends during these 10 days. You can rent bikes at the property for a very good price and if you have a headache you can get a head massage from Edward which helps a lot. Edward also helped us rent a boat for a tour of the backwaters, and when we forgot about dinner and were very hungry, he went to the hotel and brought us food.

everything was good, even mosquitoes are only during sunset
