The Symbol of Ella

Homestay in a great neighbourhood, and via a shortcut only a 5 minute walk from the city center. We loved the room: spacious; clean; beautiful materials; great (and beautiful) bathroom with a hot shower and a big private terrace to chill. Breakfast was delicious, and being brought to the terrace. At first we were a bit cautious - because accomodation reviews in Sri Lanka tend to be extremely positive - but this accomodation was even better than expected so we extended our stay!

The room was spotlessly clean, and the private jacuzzi was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is located in the heart of town, with plenty of lovely cafés within walking distance. We really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace — it was delicious. The owner and their family were so kind and welcoming. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. If we ever come back to Ella, we’ll definitely stay here again without hesitation.

This was the nicest place we stayed in SL. The room and facilities were amazing and there were lots of personal touches and nice details. I'd definitely recommend this place. It's also a short walk into town.

Every corner of the room was adorned with charming details, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was always friendly and exceptionally helpful.

The room was absolutely gorgeous! It was very clean, and everything was well furnished. We became a little (too) obsessed with the couch in the room. Breakfast was fantastic. The owners thought of everything - right down to having nail clippers in the room. For the price we paid, it was such a steal. We cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you!

Quality of the room was excellent. Lots of nice touches such as feature lights. The Indika and his wife were very attentive and provided a delicious breakfast each morning with excellent variety and choice. The outside area where we had our breakfast had lots of space with a table and chairs a d a chair swing to the side which was nice to relax on and for pics. Indika offered helpful additional services like a driver for transfers which we took him up on for a reasonable price. During one transfer we saw the Dyaluma water falls with a guide and other sites which he arranged for us. The location is really good, being a 5 min walk from the main Ella centre, though you have to be reasonably fit and mobile as the path is very rough in parts...but was fine for us. Besides the short cut into town there is the little road up to the main road, where you can also find nice quieter restaurants and walking routes up to little Adam's peak and another to 9 Arches bridge. We had a great time here, thanks to our very attentive hosts!

Not a problem, but the jacuzzi in the bathroom was cold so not very useful, but if heated would be a nice feature.

The accomodation is tucked away and the taxi driver couldn’t find the address. Would have appreciated more support in finding the accomodation as it is not well signposted.
