The Norman Guest House

This place is a gem! Loz & Dez are simply amazing! Always attentive, whatever the time of day.

Attention to detail in the rooms with everything you need. Homely and cosy. This is our second stay. We were lucky to stumble across The Norman Guest last year. Prime location for our visit to Folkestone for the day. Parking is hassle-free. We get the bus (outside the front door) into Folkestone, so no parking worries. Thank you for making us so welcome 😊 See you next year!

The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We weren't at the guest house for long as had to wake up early to take a ferry, but the time we did spend there was great - would recommend!

Norman Gurst House gave as English Cottege house living experience. Sincr it is very close to the train station commute was easy. Very friendly staff and we coukd get a homely feel.

No elevators to carry luggage.

Very comfortable place near the city center and right in front of the rain station. We had an early train the day after but we could have breakfast without a hurry as we just had to cross the street. For the dinner the night before it was easy to reach one of the many restaurants nearby just by walking. Staff is super friendly and we had the possibility of leaving our baggage earlier than getting into the room to travel lighter to the cliffs and the castle. Very kind!

The TV is very small, and the audio is poor. However, we did use it very little.

It's only a 2 minute walk from the train station, which is great. The hosts are very friendly and allowed us to store our bags there ahead of our checkin time.

There were 2 issues, one much more severe than the other one. The one that was a bit inconvenient: A smoke detector right next to our room was out of battery and beeped in the middle of the night. The larger issue: We found some small bugs in our room and the next day my partner had visible bites on her body. After doing some research, we reached the conclusion that the bugs that we saw were probably bed bugs. Of course, we informed the hosts about the problem. Their response to our message was a copy pasted chatGPT reply where they didn't even bother to remove the generic [Your Hotel Name] at the end. Therefore, we have doubts whether they take this issue serious enough.
