Hillside Cottage

Our stay at Hillside Cottage was absolutely perfect in every way. My fiancée and I came up to Ledbury for a wedding and we were both so happy with our stay. The room was immaculate and well supplied, breakfast was delicious and we slept very well. Pauline was a perfect hostess. She made sure every need was met and even drove us to the wedding in Much Marcle. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, Pauline! We will definitely be back.

We couldn't have been happier with our 2 night stay at Hillside Cottage with Pauline and John as hosts. The setting was charming in Wellington Heath, near Ledbury in Herefordshire. We had a warm welcome from Pauline, and our large ground floor room with ensuite loo and handbasin was light, very comfortable and looked out over the lovely cottage garden, as did the dining room.Perfect Pauline had provided many thoughtful touches, including fresh milk for the tea/coffee tray. We had a spacious shower room just across the hall. Pauline's farmhouse breakfasts are generous and very tasty. We were visiting the weekend of the RHS Malvern Spring Show, which is only 20 minutes away by car, or you can take the train from Ledbury to Great Malvern and catch the free shuttle bus.

The location was so peaceful and our hosts went out of their way to attend to everything. Would certainly recommend. The breakfast was gorgeous with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and plenty of toast to go along a lovely cooked breakfast , finished off with coffee. The bedroom was well appointed with a toilet and wash basin, a tea & coffee tray with kettle and always a fresh jug of milk each day.

If I have to be honest the only down side was the shower room was across the hall but there was a towelling robe provided so couldn`t put that as a downside.

Pauline and John were extremely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the village pub closed 2 weeks ago but they phoned and booked us a table at the next nearest pub. Pauline took us and picked us up after our meal. Breakfast was excellent. We can’t thank them enough for a fabulous stay.

Only mirror was in the en-suite and it was a little high for me to see through comfortably . We were only there 2 nights so managed. Sure if we’d mention it they would have found a solution!

The accommodation was fantastic, very cosy and homely. Pauline and John were fabulous hosts and made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were amazing - such a variety of choice - it was like staying in a top hotel

We had chosen the property as there was a pub within walking distance that we had intended using for our evening meal. Sadly it had closed some weeks before our visit so we had to drive into Ledbury to eat. It would have been good to have been informed of this before our stay.

The position, cleanliness, the very friendly couple of Pauline and John, they made us feel most welcome and provided invaluable information regarding the surrounding area, road travel and places to eat

Pauline and John were excellent hosts and wonderful to chat with. It certainly felt like home away from Home. The location and service were excellent, and the breakfasts were 5 Star. Highly recommended and I will return in the future

As many others have noted, Pauline and John were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Pauline went out of her to make welcome me and help me navigate the area. The house is a classic British countryside cottage with lots of outside space. The bed was comfortable and the room had what you needed. Pauline's breakfasts are amazing – everything you could possibly want, including fruit, yoghurt, cereal and hot food with drinks, all laid out in the lovely dining room each morning. Would definitely recommend!

The bathroom is just across the way from the bedroom. This didn't bother me at all but some people might want a room with the bathroom in it.
