Need to warn people about the beams, or wrap some padding round them to avoid hitting your head

Super location, spacious, comfy beds, hospitable hosts. Laren is a gem of a town for a stopover.

Stairs to the attic space are very steep but this is made clear on the listing so in line with expectations, not a complaint.

Great location within walking distance of a number of shops, restaurants and public transport. Also very close to green spaces if you want to go for a walk. Hosts were very friendly. Room was nice and spacious. Shower was hot with good pressure.

There is no kitchenette. So while there are facilities to make a cup of coffee or tea, you need to take your dishes down to the 1st floor and the hosts take care of it. This wasn't a big issue, but worth noting. As with many locations in Europe be prepared to climb steep stairs to get to your room. If you have heavy luggage or aren't that agile then it's worth checking with the hosts. Not an issue for us, but again worth noting.
