Zaali's wine cellar

Beautiful location, the host was so kind and welcoming. I felt like I was at a home away from home. The animals on the property are very cute as well :) I am a solo female traveller and I felt safe and welcome here.

Room was well decorated and comfortable. The caretaker (Inga) and the owner's mother were both very helpful, nice and friendly. 

Dinner was scandalously overpriced (50 GEL per meal and per person), especially for what you get : lots of meat that has obviously been frozen, with sauces that are just not good, accompanied by one single glass of below average wine (you can get more if you ask the caretaker but you have to ask yourself if it's even worth the bother). They remind you constantly that everything is homemade but unfortunately for them, that doesn't make it good. Breakfast is more of the same : you get served the same plate garnished with somewhat stale biscuits two days in a row (in-between the plate is left uncovered in the kitchen). Thank God the khachapuri was good!  Funny story : we decided midstay that we didn't want to stay the whole 3 nights, communicated this to our host, and lo and behold, the food and wine instantly got better. Coincidence? We don't think so.  The rooftop terrace has potential, but could use some love (seating is uncomfortable). When we were there, a big cupboard had fallen over, spilling broken ceramics and a knife on the floor. It wasn't put back up during our stay.  To reach the dining room, you have to come to the ground floor and cross the courtyard, where the dogs are. There were 6 of them when we were there (2 adults and 4 puppies). The puppies are sweet but overactive, the female dog is sometimes defensive and hostile. She will snarl and bark at you when you come back to the house from the outside. If you're even slightly afraid of dogs, DO NOT STAY AT ZAALI.  This place is making a financial killing. They don't need your money. Your vacations deserve better.

Calm location, nice food , dinner should try there. The host was so nice ; We left our EarPod at the property, she took that to airport. She is so nice and the history of the family and cellar visit is superb experience

Location is remote from the city. Peacefull, built within a small fruit farm,fresh fruits ,very friendly host

The host welcomed us and showed her historic winery. We could taste her wine and spirits (the liquors are great!). For breakfast she made us the best kachapuri we have tried in Georgia. 100% recommended!

The guesthouse is well-equiped and clean, hosts are friendly. The house has a beautiful garden with a small pond and lilies, and the rooftop is cosy especially at night if you like staring at stars.

Breakfast needs some improvement.
