Reynolds House Inn

Breakfast was delicious and I loved the waterfall shower in my room.

Needed to ask for a drinking glass for my room so that I could get water when I needed it but host supplied it when I asked, so no problem.

The breakfast was very good, and our host was very friendly and interesting to talk to!

I appreciate the charm. Jeffrey, the host and owner, is in charge of maintaining this Inn. It's LGBTQ and dog-friendly. I am unsure if dogs are allowed, but he has a beautiful boxer.

You don’t get a choice for what is served for breakfast; you are asked. It was deliciously prepared and set at the dining room table. It was cold by the time we came down to eat it with the company guests who stayed there. The host was there to converse with us. I did find a small chocolate ball candy under our bed, which we just disposed of.

The inn was furnished beautifully with antiques. It is a beautiful restored home.

We decided that a bed and breakfast was not for us. We couldn't wear shoes in the house, which wasn't a deal breaker, but a rule. We also couldn't bring any food or drinks in the room at all, except water. It was very quiet and our voices carried, so we whispered in our room so not to bother the other guests. In short we couldn't be ourselves. Also we had just flown in from California and are 3 hours behind with the time change and because of that we were 10 minutes late for breakfast. The disappointment from the owner was quite obvious to us. We probably should have just skipped breakfast, but we didn't. It was very uncomfortable. In short we left that day and checked into another inn that was more us and to our liking.

This is not your usual hotel, this is an experience. So, if you just want a bed for a night, this may not be your first choice. However, if you want to find a little magic in the woods, and ready to be a part of that magic (with its own rules), stay there abd have at it.

See above, the best of it is what may make some people uneasy, especially if you are self-contained and like "vanilla hosting".
