Really everything. Such a beautiful house, with a wonderful host who has restored and decorated the house in such a sympathetic and true way.

"Excellent breakfast, true Irish countryside experience"

9.0

Traditional Georgian home over 270 years old. Host was friendly and knowledgeable .

It’s a bit far out. But host arranged transportation with a nearby taxi driver. Worked out well for us.

James was so welcoming and accommodating. The property is actually so beautiful, and it has a powerful ambience, which immediately elicited a feeling of belonging and safety, quite unlike any other B&B I have ever stayed in before. The bath is truly magnificent. Finally, my breakfast was supreme and my morning chat with James over coffee was such a perfect start to my day. I will be back!

"The ideal place for the proverbial “romantic mini-break for two”"

10.0

Summergrove House is easy to find. The gate is electric. You approach the house from the rear, where the car park is. The interior of the house is what sells it. If you enjoy Georgian costume drame (Pride & Prejudice, Bridgerton), this lovingly restored Georgian country house is for you. Elegant period furniture, wallpaper, windows, doors, etc. We had use of a small drawing room. Our bedroom had a four poster bed, nice furniture and a very modern en-suite bathroom, which contrasted pleasantly with the more traditional bedroom. Breakfast options the following morning included fruit, cereal, a full cooked breakfast - everything you could want. The owner, James, is a very affable host, knows a lot about the house and is happy to do a small tour. We would very happily return and probably will. PS: James recommended a nearby Italian restaurant. It’s a very solid recommendation. We had a great evening and a great stay.

I think visitors should be guided from the car park, around the side of the house and should approach from the front, to get the full impact of this beautiful house.

It was a unique experience of staying in a very old house as if we were guests of the owner. It was refreshingly, not hotel-like. The bedrooms were beautifully presented in the original old style of the house and squeaky clean! Extremely comfortable beds. All en-suite. When we arrived, as it was a special birthday, we had arranged to have tea and coffee. It was served in the lovely dining room with homemade scones, cream and jam. We were treated with wonderful hospitality, courtesy and generosity. After our dinner in a local restaurant we had a relaxed glass of wine (which we brought with us) in the drawing room. In the morning, James served us a scrumptious organic based full Irish breakfast, with fantastic coffee and tea in the very relaxed, peaceful setting downstairs. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Nothing!.
