Geoghegans Magpie Bar and B&B

The room I was in was grand and the location is within walking distance of everything in the village. But obviously any where in the village is within walking distance of everywhere else.

The hosts were only concerned about themselves and getting as much money out of guests as possible for as little effort as possible. Everything was done on their time. This place isn't a B&B, they don't do cooked breakfasts, you have to make your own tea or coffee in a kip of a bar that doesn't have any tables only a bar counter. An absolute rip off of a place.

Accommodation was cold, dated and not clean.

Traditioneller Pub mit Zimmer im Dorf Glin. Haben auf Empfehlung Essen vom Asiaten im Pub verzehrt. Sehr nette, gesprächige Gastgeber (humorvoller Opa und Tochter?). Frühstück ausreichend. Angekündigte Musiker (Festival) im Nachbarpub hängen geblieben. Aber tolle Wahl beim Einspiel irischer Musik. Gute Tipps für Fähre und Road (Clifs).

Man musste durch ein Gästezimmer zum Gemeinschaftsbad. (Keine Gäste!) Haben auf Empfehlung Essen vom Asiaten im Pub verzehrt. Achtung: Man muss die Heizung selbst einschalten - Kippschalter am Verteiler!)

Wonderful stay in an comfortable en-suite room (bedroom and private bath) in the family home across the street from the pub. The 5th generation family owners were welcoming and friendly. Had a great conversation with their son Aaron in the pub and the next day with other members of the family during the continental breakfast at the back of the pub.

Loved the quiet, sunny room and private bathroom. The breakfast included several options to choose from: various cereals, yogurt, ham, cheese, bread, apples, juice, milk, coffee & tea. The owners were engaging and we enjoyed our conversations. They were helpful, kind and had terrific recommendations for dinner and places to visit in the area.

The bed was not very comfortable.

The museum they recommended was great. I highly recommend it.

The town really didn’t have much compared to other towns.
